APC Governors Pledge Support For Rescue Of Kebbi Schoolgirls

Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) under the aegis of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) have assured the Kebbi State Government and families of the abducted schoolgirls of their support in rescuing the students.

Chairman of the PGF and Imo State governor, Hope Uzodimma, gave the assurance during a visit of the governors to the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, on Thursday.

“We are here to commiserate with you over the tragic incident that occurred in Zuru Emirate when the school was attacked. It is painful, and we deemed it necessary to identify with you at this difficult time,” said

The abduction of 25 female students from Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, on Monday, has sparked widespread concern.

The terrorists also killed the Vice Principal of the school, Hassan Yakubu Makuku, and abducted the students.

Governor Uzodimma condemned the attack, reaffirming the governors’ commitment to strengthening national security and supporting President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to curb insecurity.

“We are your brothers in unity, standing firmly behind President Bola Tinubu to ensure national security is strengthened and this ugly trend of insecurity is curbed,” Uzodimma said.

Kebbi State governor, Nasir Idris, thanked the governors for their solidarity visit, saying President Bola Tinubu has assured the government and families that everything possible will be done to rescue the students.

“We have already directed clerics to pray for the safe return of the students and for peace and security in the state and the country,” Idris said.
