The rise of Emi Martinez is one of the most interesting ones in football over the last couple of years. The Argentine goalkeeper got an opportunity to show his level at Arsenal in 2020 after first-choice Bernd Leno picked up a serious injury.

Martínez grabbed this opportunity with both hands, and while  Arteta did not leave him as the first choice upon Leno’s return, it earned him a move to Aston Villa and becoming Argentina’s number one.
