Barcelona have reportedly made changes to their transfer wishlist for the summer transger window.
Barcelona have reportedly cooled their interest in Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy; instead, they are looking elsewhere in the Bundesliga, with Harry Kane’s name gaining ground.
The 29-year-old was the top scorer in the Champions League last season, and Hansi Flick is said to prioritise a player of his profile to replace Lewandowski. However, recent reports suggest Barcelona are uninterested in going down that route.
Barca remove Guirassy’s name from striker list
The Blaugrana have been linked with a number of strikers ahead of next summer, when Robert Lewandowski’s contract expires. They have already ruled out the likes of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, with their fees deemed unattainable.
According to the Daily Briefing, the Guinean’s name has also been dropped from the shortlist, despite having an alleged €65 million release clause in the summer (€50 million in January).
However, Guirassy’s age is said to have discouraged Barcelona, as they are only interested in signing older players who have star power.
The Harry Kane interest
That policy of signing older players with star power led them to sign Robert Lewandowski at 34, a move which proved successful, as the Poland international has scored 108 goals in 159 matches for the Blaugrana, winning two LALIGA titles in the three seasons he has completed.
The same policy has led them to 33-year-old Harry Kane, who is rumoured to have a €65 million release clause in his Barcelona contract.
Kane is playing the best football of his career, having scored 21 goals already this season, after having won the European Golden Shoe last term. As Pulse Sports reported, he is keen on the move to Barcelona, who have now bumped his name to the top of their wish list, according to MD.
