The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has placed Nigerian singer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, on its watch-list after he failed to honour an official invitation over his controversial comments involving underage girls.
The agency addressed the matter at a press conference in Abuja on Monday, where officials revealed that the singer, who reportedly fled the country months ago, had been declared wanted after repeatedly refusing to appear before investigators.
The controversy stems from videos posted online in which Speed Darlington made remarks about underage girls—content that drew the agency’s attention and sparked weeks of back-and-forth between both parties.

According to NAPTIP’s Director of Legal and Prosecution, Ijeoma Mary Amugo, the singer not only ignored the invitation but also allegedly attempted to intimidate the agency after being declared wanted. Efforts to locate him have so far been unsuccessful, with officials stating that he was last seen outside Nigeria.
Amugo added that Speed Darlington publicly claimed the agency was infringing on his human rights and vowed not to honour any summons. She assured that once apprehended, he will be arrested and subjected to a full investigation regarding his statements and behaviour in the videos involving minors.
