 A Russian drone attack killed at least one person and wounded 11 in Vyshgorod, outside of Kyiv, the regional governor said Sunday. The attack came ahead of a meeting between top Trump administration officials and Ukrainian negotiators in Florida aimed at brokering an end to Russia’s war in Ukraine and set the stage for key talks planned in Moscow with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Trump officials to sit down with Ukrainian negotiators in Florida

Top Trump administration officials including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff are meeting Ukrainian negotiators in Florida this weekend.

The meeting comes after the resignation of Ukraine’s top negotiator and chief of staff, Andrii Yermak, due to an anti-graft probe. FRANCE 24’s Gulliver Cragg brings you the latest.

Turkey condemns Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil tankers off Black Sea coast

The Turkish government has condemned Ukrainian drone attacks on two Russian “shadow fleet” oil tankers in the Black Sea.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Oncu Keceli said the attacks on the Kairos and Virat vessels happened inside Turkey’s exclusive economic zone and “have posed serious risks to navigation, life, property and environmental safety in the region.”

In a social media post late Saturday, Keceli added that Turkey is carrying out talks with “the relevant parties” to prevent the spread of the war in Ukraine across the Black Sea and to protect Turkey’s economic interests.

Ukraine has said it used naval drones to hit the tankers in quick succession off Turkey’s Black Sea coast late Friday afternoon. Crew members on board both vessels were reported to be safe.

Kazakhstan criticises Ukraine over drone attack on CPC oil terminal

Kazakhstan criticised Ukraine on Sunday for a drone attack on the Black Sea terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), which handles more than 1% of global oil.

The CPC said on Saturday it had halted operations after a mooring at its Black Sea terminal was significantly damaged by a Ukrainian naval drone attack.

Kazakhstan’s foreign ministry said it was protesting “over yet another deliberate attack on the critical infrastructure of

the international Caspian Pipeline Consortium in the waters of the Port of Novorossiysk”.

“This incident marks the third act of aggression against an exclusively civilian facility whose operation is safeguarded by norms of international law,” the ministry said.

Russian drone strike kills one, wounds 11 near Kyiv

A Russian drone attack has killed one person and wounded 11 on the outskirts of the Ukrainian capital, the regional governor said Sunday.

Mykola Kalashnyk, the Kyiv regional governor, reported “another enemy drone attack” and said rescuers were evacuating residents of a high-rise building and firefighting was ongoing.

“Unfortunately, as a result of the enemy attack on Vyshgorod, one person was killed and 11 were wounded. Among them is one child,” Kalashnyk wrote on Telegram.

Ukraine negotiators to hold talks in US on plan to end war

Ukrainian negotiators are due to hold talks in the United States on Sunday on Washington’s plan to end the war with Russia, with Kyiv facing pressure on both the military and political fronts.

As Russia advances on the front line, its forces targeted Ukraine’s capital and the region for two nights in a row ahead of the talks in the United States.

A drone attack in the outskirts of Kyiv killed one person and wounded 11 on Saturday night, the regional governor said.
