Billionaire industrialist Abdul Samad Rabiu has thrown his weight behind the Super Eagles, announcing a massive cash incentive to spur the national team to victory as they advance in the tournament.
Rabiu, in a statement shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, congratulated the Super Eagles on their impressive win over Algeria, describing the performance as one that lifted the morale of Nigerians across the country.
To motivate the team ahead of the semi-final encounter, the BUA Group chairman pledged a sum of $500,000 to be paid to the players if they secure victory at that stage. He also promised an additional $50,000 for every goal scored in the semi-final.
The business mogul further raised the stakes, announcing a $1 million reward should the Super Eagles go on to win the final. He added that each goal scored in the final would attract an extra $100,000 bonus.
Rabiu praised the players for making the nation proud and urged them to sustain their winning momentum as they carry Nigeria’s hopes forward on the continental stage.
“Keep making Nigeria proud,” he wrote, signing off as a “Proudly Nigerian.”
