The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has formally presented a brand-new 2025 Alsvin Mikano vehicle to the winner of the MTN Campus Invasion competition, in a ceremony that underscored growing collaboration between academia and the private sector.
The presentation took place on the UNILAG campus, with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola, presiding over the official handover. She praised MTN Nigeria for consistently investing in initiatives that promote youth development and support students beyond the classroom.
The beneficiary, Babatunde Ayomide Emmanuel, a 100-level student of Industrial Mathematics, clinched the prize after emerging top in the MTN Campus Invasion competition, an initiative designed to reward student participation, customer engagement and brand loyalty. The vehicle, valued at approximately ₦35 million, was handed over in the presence of senior university officials and the student’s parent.
Addressing attendees, Prof. Ogunsola highlighted the significance of corporate responsibility, stressing that partnerships between universities and reputable private organisations are vital to nurturing students and preparing them for future challenges.
She noted that such gestures go beyond service provision, describing the car as a meaningful boost that could positively shape the young student’s journey.
In his remarks, an elated Emmanuel expressed profound appreciation to MTN Nigeria, describing the experience as life-changing.
He said receiving the car keys from the Vice-Chancellor, alongside his parent, was a memorable milestone, adding that the gift would serve as an important foundation for his future aspirations.
