Bandits Murder Prince,Yusuf Derdoski & His Pregnant Sister, Abduct Others In Gombe

A night-time raid by armed bandits in Pindiga town, Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State, has left two members of a family dead and two others abducted, sending shockwaves through the community.
According to a security analyst in the Northwest, Bakatsine, the attackers stormed a private residence late Saturday night, killing Prince Yusuf Derdoski and his pregnant sister. Two other siblings were reportedly taken by the assailants. The brutal incident has plunged Pindiga into mourning and reignited fears over escalating insecurity in parts of Gombe State.

“The attack has shocked the community and raised serious concerns about the safety of residents,” Bakatsine said on X, noting that repeated security breaches have left locals increasingly vulnerable.

The incident has sparked questions about the effectiveness of security measures in the region, with calls for authorities to review intelligence gathering and rapid response mechanisms to prevent similar attacks. “Given the recurring security breaches, how are security agencies reassessing their operations to protect vulnerable communities like Pindiga?” Bakatsine asked.

The Pindiga attack comes amid ongoing efforts by the Nigerian government, in collaboration with the United States, to combat terrorism and banditry across the country. Residents and analysts alike are now pressing for stronger, more proactive security strategies to safeguard lives in affected communities.
