A Nigerian lady, Ndonima Sam Wewe, has expressed appreciation for her father and mother for their heavy-handed parenting, saying that the ‘training’ works because she doesn’t misbehave. Nigerian Travel Packages
She disclosed this in a Facebook post on January 2, 2026 while reacting to the case of a father accused of assaulting his 14-year-old daughter in Taraba.
According to Ndonima, her father, who was a soldier, used to practice his military exercises on her till his d3ath.
After he passed away, her mother continued with the tradition by taking her to soldiers for punishment.
“My dad retired from the military before I was born, he literally practiced all the exercises he missed during his service years on me, yet I was his favorite child,” she wrote.
“And when he died my mum continued from there, she got to the extent of taking me to soldiers next to our house for punishments, saying “I am used to being beaten by armies” I didn’t die after all these but it changed my mentality even before I got to my puberty phase because I was 9 then.
“Now, all I can say is I am grateful for all that training because it’s really working. I can stay away from home now for months and my mum will be confident that I won’t misbehave. Allow parents to train their children abeg.”
