US President Donald Trump said Saturday he was going to review a new Iranian peace proposal but said he doubted it would be acceptable, saying that Tehran had “not yet paid a big enough price”. Iran Revolutionary Guard says US options are ‘impossible’ military operation or ‘bad deal’

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said that the United States faced a choice between an “impossible” military operation or a “bad deal” with the Islamic Republic.

In a statement carried by state television, the Guards intelligence organisation said that “Trump must choose between ‘an impossible operation or a bad deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran'”. 

It cited what it described as a “shift in tone” from China, Russia, and Europe towards Washington as well as what it called an Iranian “deadline” over the US naval blockade.

⁠Israel ​gave ​final approval for a plan ​to ‌purchase ⁠two ‌new combat squadrons ⁠of F-35 and F-15IA ​aircraft ‌from Lockheed Martin ‌and Boeing in ​a deal worth tens of ​billions ​of shekels, ​the defence ​ministry said.

Iran executes man convicted over killing of security officer in 2022 protests

⁠Iran executed ​a man convicted of involvement ​in the killing of a security officer, the judiciary’s news ​outlet ‌Mizan reported ⁠on Sunday, after the Supreme Court ‌upheld his sentence in late ⁠2025.

The defendant, identified as Mehrab Abdollahzadeh, was described ​as one of ‌the main individuals responsible for the death of security officer ‌Abbas Fatemiyeh, killed in 2022 ​during a nationwide protest movement sparked by the death of ​Kurdish-Iranian woman Mahsa Amini ​in police ​custody.

Mizan said the defendant confessed to ​assaulting the security officer. Rights group HRANA quoted an informed source as saying Abdollahzadeh ⁠was subject to torture to ⁠extract ​forced confessions.

Iran plans to turn university site hit by US-Israeli strikes into museum

Iranian authorities plan to turn a bombsite at a university in central Iran into a museum about the impact of US-Israeli strikes, an official said. 

“The current damaged site will be preserved as a war museum at the university to remain a document of the country’s scientific oppression in history,” Isfahan University of Technology head Zafarollah Kalantarion said. 

US-Israeli strikes hit the institution in Isfahan – among the largest universities in Iran – in March.

Officials have said that the US and Israel have struck more than 30 universities across Iran.

Israeli military urges southern Lebanon residents to leave their homes as it conducts operations against Hezbollah

The Israeli military issued an urgent warning to residents ​of ‌11 towns and ⁠villages in southern Lebanon, urging them to ‌evacuate their homes and move at least ⁠1,000 metres away to open areas.

The military said ​it was conducting operations ‌against Hezbollah following what it alleged was a violation of their ceasefire ‌agreement, warning that anyone near Hezbollah ​fighters or facilities could be at risk.

The message included the city of Nabatieh, which lies north of the Litani River – and several kilometres beyond the swath of southern Lebanon occupied by Israeli troops.

Israel has continued to carry out ​strikes across southern Lebanon, and its ​troops in the country’s south are destroying homes ​they describe as infrastructure being used by Hezbollah.

US President Donald Trump said Saturday he would soon review the latest peace proposal from Iran, but cast doubt on its prospects.

“I will soon be reviewing the plan that Iran has just sent to us, but can’t imagine that it would be acceptable in that they have not yet paid a big enough price for what they have done to Humanity, and the World, over the last 47 years,” he said in a post on his Truth Social platform.
