Who is Bola Ahmed Tinubu ?
From the bustling streets of Lagos to the highest office in the land, Tinubu’s journey has been defined by one constant: survival against overwhelming odds.
In 1991, a young Tinubu emerged seemingly from nowhere to unseat political titans Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Ganiyu Olawale Dawodu, winning the Lagos West Senate seat on his first attempt.
At a time when military rulers Ibrahim Babangida and later Sani Abacha were installing their preferred presidents, Tinubu stood unbowed.
During the June 12 crisis, when the nation teetered on the edge, he survived threats, intimidation and political turbulence that would have ended the careers of many.
Tinubu had returned to Lagos politics with a precision rarely seen in 1999.
He outmaneuvered Engr. Funso Williams, a front-runner for the governorship, consolidated his influence and reshaped Lagos State politics, sidelining veterans such as Chief Ayo Adebanjo and neutralizing opposition networks.
Under his leadership, Lagos became a model of political stability and economic progress, even as rival factions tried and failed to destabilize him.

Tinubu’s rise was not limited to Lagos. As a key ally to President Olusegun Obasanjo, he navigated eight years of national politics, surviving betrayals political cabals and the often deadly games of power that claimed many of his contemporaries.
He faced plots from the Presidential Cabal, insurgent groups, and even conspiracies orchestrated by his own inner circle but emerged intact, unbroken and politically sharper than ever.
Today, as President of Nigeria, Tinubu confronts perhaps the most pressing challenge of his career: a nation grappling with soaring insecurity.
Banditry, kidnapping and insurgency threaten the safety of citizens and the stability of the state.
Yet, as always, Tinubu’s response has been deliberate, calm and strategic. Coordinating with state governments, security agencies, and traditional leaders, he is confronting these threats head-on, combining street-smart political insight with national leadership experience.
Those who know Tinubu describe him as a rare mix of calmness, attentiveness, and decisiveness.
He listens, assesses, and strikes when necessary.
He pairs street sense with academic knowledge, spiritual insight and professional experience a combination that has repeatedly allowed him to overcome what others deem insurmountable.
For Bola Ahmed Tinubu, obstacles are never permanent barriers, they are challenges to master.
From surviving military rule, political coups and Lagos State power struggles to weathering national crises and the current insecurity storm, Tinubu has consistently turned adversity into opportunity.
Nigeria today watches a leader forged in the crucible of survival.
Bola Tinubu has done it before, hopefully, he will do it again.
